The desire to stay connected to your essential truth, and creatively share the common joys and struggles of being a human has always been The Artist Assignment.  However, the constant pressure of being chased by the daily needs has starved the young artist that lives in each one of us.  The life of the artist should never be limited to the applausable end product, but to enjoy a sustainable human life, truly and fully, and successfully find the space and the support to express what it is like to be who we are. What it is like to be alive!

Hello beautiful human ,


Its Desiree Nicole Lester, Creator, of TheArtist Assignment here.  Here to celebrate the possibilities of collaborating with the living artist beyond viral sensations, sold out shows and merchandise. My business adventure has a soft opening, Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 on the birthday of James Baldwin.  I will use this website offering to explore what it is like to be in a professional conversation with my artist peers, ancestors and other community members I attract during this exploration.  


I respect your time and appreciation the exchange.  Ancestor Acknowledgement Altars, Rap Mantra Meditations and Good Medicine are my current artist assignments.   For now I am just doing my own work and sharing a window seat.
